1.  Essential Oil Blends

There are many many essential oil brands out there but it is worth paying that bit more to ensure the best quality. Many small local business do them and it’s a great way to support local.

Kotanical, an Irish essential oil company (and my favourite place for essential oils) does a range of roll on blends that help support the mind and body. From “Unwind” to help you sleep to “Pure Focus” to help you concentrate on your current task. ( Not sure I would ever complete a blog post without Pure Focus! )

The oils are hand distilled in Ireland and you won’t find a higher quality!

Available at www.kotanical.ie  €22

2. A Meditation App Subscription

I believe if everyone practised mindfulness the world would be a better place! No matter who you are or where you are in your life everyone can enjoy the benefits, it just takes a bit of practice.

There are thousands of meditation apps out there but the best one to explain it all and convert even the most diehard sceptic is Headspace. You get the first 10 days free, which gives you a basic introduction to mindfulness. You can then give a months membership as a gift for 10€.

Other apps which are great for all levels of practice are Pacifica and Calm.

3. Ren Pillow Spray and Now to Sleep  €20 / £19 / $23

Create your relaxing, sleep-ready space to fall asleep faster and wake well-rested. The Now To Sleep Pillow Spray blends the soothing power of Lavender, Hops and Frankincense scents to help relax the mind and body. And we all know how important sleep is for our wellbeing!

4. The Mindfulness Colouring Book  €7 / £5.50 / $10

The trend for adult colouring books is still going strong. And with good reason, they are a great way of switching your brain off from other thoughts and focusing your attention. Which brings about more mindfulness and reduces stress and anxiety.

A quick search on Amazon will bring up hundreds of different options but The Mindfulness Colouring Book is the original and in my option still the best.

5. Magnesium Body Oil €15/ £17 / $20

Magnesium is an important mineral for helping with muscle soreness and headaches but it was when I visited Rogaska Slatina in Slovenia and tried their magnesium-rich mineral water that I learnt how important magnesium is for helping the body cope with stress.  Due to our poorer food choices and magnesium depleted soil, our bodies aren’t getting enough of this essential mineral. Taking supplements can help but our bodies can find it hard to absorb. One of the best ways of getting your RDA is through a magnesium body oil.  And when applied at night time it also helps with getting a good night sleep.

There are quite a few different options and all have really good reviews. Available IRL | UK | US

6. A Black Out Eye Mask €9 / £7 / $10

Personally, I can go to sleep at any time of the day but for the rest of you who need total darkness to sleep this eye mask could be a lifesaver. The innovative design on nose section prevents any type of light entering and the eye space is wider and deeper than the traditional eye mask, so there’s no pressure on your eyeballs as with flat mask, this also means its an ideal choice for eyelash extensions! The only downside is you look like you’re wearing a bra on your face or like some sort of bug person.

How cute are these mini diffusers? (I may have already ordered one for myself..)  They’re very small so perfect for an office space, where you want to use essential oils but are afraid of annoying your colleagues. As an extra bonus, it also works as a humidifier, so it will help stop your skin drying out from central heating.

10. A Jazzy Reusable Water Bottle. €15 / £17 /$20

You can never have too many reusable water bottles! You need one for the office, the car, the gym, your bag.. And with these beautiful bottles, you will want to show them off to everyone! The original fancy water bottles S’well are a bit outside the price range as are another range Chillys. But there are many others out there that are just as pretty! Simple Modern Wave Water Bottles don’t have as many different designs as S’well but they have a great selection for a much lower price. I’d be very happy to receive one of these!  Now your only problem is what colour and design do you get??

13  A Jade or Rose Quartz Facial Roller  €/ £ /$ 15-20

To help release tension from the face a cooling Jade or rose quartz facial roller is the way to go. It feels so good, especially if you’ve had a few glasses of wine the night before…. You’ll find a range of rollers at different prices but more expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better. Make sure you read the reviews before you order. Many come with a Gua Sha Massage Tool, which is great to massage the face with.

14 Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig  €10 / £9 / $17

I’m never going to stop going on about Matt Haig and his books. I love his writing and views of the world. They make so much sense and stay with you long after you finished reading. Everyone should read this book but in particular, if you suffer from anxiety. It’s not a self-help book but a guide to coping with the modern life. It opens your eyes to many things happening in our world that we are oblivious to. Read this and his other fiction books especially “How To Stop Time”

15. Make a Donation in their name.

Is there a cause your friend or workmate is passionate about? Show you have been paying attention by donating to a charity that they support or aligns with their interests. Plus studies have shown donating to charity improves your mood! Its a win win!

16. A Cook Book to help them lead a Healthier and Happier life

There are ALOT of cookbooks out there. It’s a bit of a minefield trying to go through them all. Two that I love (and really should use more) are Eat Yourself Beautiful and Eat Yourself Fit. A great gift for anyone who is looking to make changes to better their diet.

17.  A set of Massage Balls €17 / £15 / $20

Hands up who needs a massage? ( That should be all of you!) While we should all be getting a regular massage for optimum health it’s not always possible. These balls are the next best thing. You can use them to release tension, hit trigger points and ease pain. The different sizes and types mean you can use them for different levels of pressure. Originally for helping to speed up muscle recovery after a workout or injury, they work just as well for releasing the stress and tension that accumulates in our bodies through the day. The best part is you can use them anywhere including the office!

18. A Beautiful Journal or Notebook

I love giving (and receiving) beautiful notebooks. Its one of the things I always find hard to justify the expense when buying for myself. Even though nearly everything is done online now, there’s something really soothing and therapeutic about writing in a journal or notebook. Even if its just your to do list! Some of the best ones are by moleskin, I also love fabric covered notebooks or ones with funny quotes. The possibilities are endless!

Available everywhere but I do love this one

19. A Candle (but really really good one!)

Hands up who has received a candle as a gift? And have you regifted that candle? A smelly candle is the most common gift I think we all give and receive. They’re easy to buy, generally not too expensive (ahem Diptyque) and simple to wrap! But there are alot of nasty cheap perfuming smelling ones that can actually create air pollution in the home from the chemical they release. Not really a wellness gift..  Not to worry there are plenty of great options, just make sure to pick a brand you trust.

My favourite Irish brands are Max Benjamin and Brook and Shoals. Other options include Aromaworks (mmm their inspire candle..), Neom and ESPA (Although ESPA is a bit out of the 20 budget but they are worth every penny.)

Add a little note with the candle, telling your giftee when they should use it. Eg in the morning to help wake them up, while meditating to help focus or relaxing when having a bath.

20. Relaxing Bath Oils

You can’t have a list of wellbeing gifts and not include some bath oils! Again bath oils are something you rarely buy for yourself so they make a great gift but like candles, if you don’t get it right, they will end up sitting in a cupboard for years. You want to look for natural products as anything with too much perfume can be irritating for the skin – the opposite of what you want from relaxing in a bath. There are so many options available but if you go with trusted brands you can’t go wrong. ESPA bath oils are my favourites but they are a bit out of budget. They do a great gift set “Time for Sleep” which includes soothing bath oil, soothing body and a soothing balm for €30, which is great value and the perfect gift for someone who has problems sleeping. Other options are Aromatherapy Associates, Weleda  and of course Elemis.

I know I (who is a bath oil snob!) would be very happy to receive a little gift from these.
